Essay: Types of
Government
We have been
studying six forms of governmental organization. All the information our
studies are based on is available at ZartlerGovEcon.blogspot.com under the
Wednesday, 9 September entry.
Considering all your notes and understanding about the
various forms of government (Athenian Democracy; Autocracy / Dictatorship;
Consensus; Monarchy; and Parliamentary Republic; and Presidential Republic) write
an essay that shows your understanding of the similarities and differences
among at least three (3) different types of governmental organization. Students
wishing to earn an “A” should compare and contrast and offer their opinions on
at least four (4) different forms. Your essay should use two (2) or more
categories of analysis e.g. Pros and Cons; or Inclusivity and Safeguards to
prove your thesis; The best essays may use three (3) or more categories of
analysis.
The following is
a suggested outline. The thesis statement for your essay should answer the
question “Which form of government do you believe to be the best?”
Questions to
consider in order to write this essay include:
1) Is one form of government superior?
2) Are there patters of strengths and weakness?
3) Which form do you prefer?
