Monday, 18 April

Students were introduced to the next unit with the following video.
Intro to Macro-Economics Video
Students took notes on
What kinds of questions are asked and answered by Macro-Economics?

Students were alerted to pay attention to the concepts of:
money supply; inflation; prices; economic growth; taxes; and GDP.

Students turned in their resumes, and wrote answers to the ten most common interview questions (to be turned in for credit on Friday), then practiced mock interviews.

To close out our section on preparing a resume; today we will spend some time thinking about interviewing for a job. After we talk about each of the following questions you will spend some time writing about each one. After writing about each one, we will work in small groups practicing answering these questions in a mock interview.
Your written answers to these questions will be checked as a “Formative Assessment”
Here are the 10 questions you’re most likely to be asked in a job interview:
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. What interests you about this opening? (e.g. Why do you want to work here?)
3. What do you know about our company so far?
4. Why did you leave your last job? (Or why are you thinking about leaving your current job?)
5. Tell me about your experience at [your last job]. (What have you done that would make you seem like a good employee)
6. What experience do you have managing [various responsibilities]?
7. Tell me about your strengths.
7B. Tell me about your weaknesses?
8. Tell me about a time when … (These will be situations relevant to the position. For instance: Tell me about when you had to take initiative … you had to deal with a difficult customer … you had to respond to a crisis … you had to give difficult feedback to an employee … You get the idea.)
9. What salary range are you looking for?

10. What questions do you have for me?
